Carey Blyton’s 50th birthday was on 14th March 1982. Just over six months later, the event was commemorated by a half-hour BBC Radio programme devoted to Carey’s career and work to date. Broadcast on BBC Radio Medway on two consecutive afternoons, the interviewer and producer of the programme was David Cornet. The programme was publicised in print as follows [NB ‘Swanlea’ is a typo; it should be Swanley]:
Composer Carey Blyton who lives in Swanlea talks to David Cornet about his musical life as he celebrates his 50th birthday
